"She looks like some wanted criminal", "She was in a state of intoxication", "She crossed the road in a wrong place", "She resisted during detention" – the police and traffic inspectors cannot decide, why they had put Galina Smirnova into the IVS (temporary detention facility).
On March 24, Galina Smirnova, the head of the REP unit in Bobruisk, and Taisiya Kabanchuk, a REP member, were returning home in a taxi after a party in the office – they celebrated the centenary of the Belarusian People's Republic (BPR). Coming out of the car, Galina noticed that there were too many people in the yard for a midnight. At the entrance, the woman was blocked off and told that she was detained.
Then, Galina and Taisiya were taken to the IVS, where they stayed until 2 p.m. on March 26, that is, for three days! Their detention was accompanied by a huge amount of violations.
On Monday, March 26, they were brought to the court. Their relatives and friends were informed that the court session would take place after 2 p.m. However, at the court office, they were told that the case "had been sent for revision." Nobody knows when the next session will take place, this time the court will consider "disobedience during detention."
Thus, Galina Smirnova and Taisiya Kabanchuk spent several days behind bars for no understandable reasons.
