The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (known as "FPB") will not only support Alexander Lukashenko as a nominee for President of Belarus, but is also ready to bag subscriptions for nomination of the incumbent head of the state as a candidate for presidency at the forthcoming election. This was stated on June 23 by Chairman of the FPB Leonid Kozik, who addressed the participants of the reporting-election conference of the Gomel Regional Trade Union Association. According to the press service of the FPB, the Chairman was supported by all the participants of the conference. They also unanimously voted for Lukashenko's election as a delegate of the 4th Congress of the FPB to be held in September 2010.
Addressing the conference, the head of official trade unions has called to speed up the work within the private sector of economy towards creation of trade-union organizations there. Leonid Kozik also reminded his position on collective bargaining and collective agreements.
"We believe that provisions of these documents should cover the members of the trade union only," the press service of the Federation quotes its Chairman as saying.
