Gennady Fedynich, Chairman of the REP Trade Union, was invited to the Inspectorate for Taxes and Dues of the Tsentralny District of Minsk, where he was asked to report the sources of the money he used to buy – back in 2005 – a Toyota Avensis car.

According to Gennady, indeed, he bought the car made in 1998 after having sold his previous VAZ-2105 car. Moreover, according to the trade union leader, the level of salaries and wages of those years made it possible to accumulate money for buying a second-hand foreign-made car.

"There's no need to think a lot to conclude that this is another attack on me to take revenge for my active civil behaviour, in particular, for organization of local meetings within the People's Assembly in defence of socio-economic rights and freedoms of Belarusian citizens," Gennady Fedynich gave his concluding comment.
